Can you spot the difference?
Looking at these 2 Pokémon you would think that they are the same… That is not quite the case.
One is REAL and the other is FAKE!
So here are some key points to point out the obvious:
Look at the fonts, colors or any misspelled words,
If you have some cards that you know are authentic, do a side by side comparison with the one you are unsure of.
Texture,
now there are some heavy hitters that have a certain kind of ‘finger print texture’ to it. These are REAL!
Now you may have a card that looks like one of these nice and expensive cards but if you look closer at the card and you don't see that texture.. Sorry my friend, it is most likely a FAKE
The Light test,
another easy test to do is put a light behind it. Depending on what TCG you play, using a flash light to shine through the card is another indicator of how to tell if the card is .
“Tear it up”
the commonly used method (but one that is most frowned upon) is tearing the card in half. REAL cards will have a black ink line along the tear as for the FAKE it will not have. *note only do at your own risk*
